Uke grabs nage. Nage steps under uke’s arm, turns 180 degrees, puts one hand on top of uke’s head while the other hand grabs uke’s wrist with the arm extended up. Nage finishes the throw; uke takes a roll.
In class, a wooden sword (called a bokken) is used. For Sandan both bokken and live blade taking is required.

Normally, this is done with two wooden weapons. Sensei thought it would be fun to have a live sword and a wooden jo. In all these techniques the jo always finishes.
