CAA Division 1 Weapons Training
On February 21 Aikido San Leandro (ASL) will be hosting our semi-annual training. Members from around the globe gather to train and hang out. There will be tests (Sandan) and/or demos (Yondan and above) followed by a potluck party. This is a very special event.

Aikido San Leandro (ASL) Monthly Weapons Seminars
ASL will be having monthly weapons seminars in person at ASL or on Zoom.
A few times a year, they will have two-day seminars. Classes are 8:30 to 9:30 and 10:00 to 11:00 each day.

Kagami Biraki With Hendricks Shihan
A very special, once a year event.
A wonderful time was had by all. Hendrick Shihan is an amazing teacher. Our dojo demos (the four girls, the white belts doing the 7 bokken suburi in unison and Jennifer and Brian doing Ki Musubi No Tachi variations) were spot on. Thanks to everyone in Aikido Contra Costa for stepping up with preparation and participation.
NY Aikikai Summer Camp with Doshu
It was a very special occasion:
• Doshu came from Japan and taught a class
• We had a banquet in his honor
• Our Sensei Patricia Hendricks was asked to teach a class

We had to honor and privilege to attend this special event. There were about 250 people from 120 dojos in 15 countries.
After the last training (taught by Doshu), each group got to have their photo taken with Doshu and his uke (Hino Sensei)

Patricia Hendricks Shihan, Sensei of Aikido San Leandro and CAA Division 1 Head, graced us with her inspiring teaching.
Students from our dojo and hers came together for a day of training and celebration.

Our Dojo at ASL Celebrating Nick and Jennifer Getting Their Certificates
On Saturday, August 24, during the semi-annual training at ASL, Nick and Jennifer received their certificates.
Nick got his Sandan. Jennifer got her Shodan.
Yvonne Sensei from Washington DC Teaches Class
On Thursday, August 22, Yvonne Sensei and 4 of her students (Dave, Roger, Vlad and Bard) came to our dojo. We practiced with them and helped Dave prepare for his Yondan demo. Two of our students also will be part of Dave’s demo at ASL on Saturday August 24.
An Amazing Time Was Had by All!
